Biking the Westside

Biking the Westside

I rode up the east bank of the Hudson
and watched a summer tempest
as it tore across New Jersey.
As the surge reached the palisades,
clouds chased the sun from the western sky.
The first drops of rain hit the pavement
with a bacon grease sizzle
and Gotham breathed a sigh of relief
as the July heat washed away.

Awesomely vivid write. I could hear the rain hit the pavement and smell the humidity coming off the pavement! Very well done!
