Across the Night

Across the Night

I surrendered to my desires
and fell into a fitful sleep.
Lucid dirty blonde dreams
and tattoo fantasies ensued.
A night of cold sweat lust;
thoughts of the base and dark
spaces between you and I.

Could you feel my tongue
part your thighs as you slept?
Did my desire penetrate the night,
find you longing on the other side
and hold you on the brink
of torture, need and ecstasy?

I thought I heard you sigh
as I devoured the skin of your neck
and took you from behind
those hungry tanned eyes,
and handfuls of flaxen hair.

As the morning sun invaded
did you wake with a start;
spent, chest still heaving,
the chill of the dawn air
dancing on your skin
as wanton hands had done
in the unrepentant night?

This is just way beyond brilliant... Lust, desire, obsession peeled down to the most raw and delectable fruit.
I'm a little stunned by the ferocity and power with which the words landed a metaphysical punch to my frontal lobe.

You went dirty muddy and dark with this one, and brought out brilliance in your poem

dude rocking piece, you kicked into high gear about a third of the way in...desire, longing...perhaps only to have in your dreams but to take none the less....torture, dark space...these words make me doubt the willingness...hmm....

Always appreciate when fitful sleep transforms into a dirty blonde with tats. I particularly like how you blur the edge between dream and reality through questioning details of the relations.

could you feel? i thought i heard you sigh - masterful how you bridge the undefined space between those raw and somewhat dark desires to reality

You moved effortlessly through a range of emotions and desires, all of which captivated me and drew me in… What a remarkable write!

These two should split up! Sensual and sexual, but also tugs at the heart stings. As always great take

First line is perfect scene-setting,and the language throughout precise and all the more powerful for it in the sensuous context. "..the unrepentant night." Classic.

I love it that the night is unrepentant. We would not be human were it not for the wetness of our "sin." You convey much intensity with a certain spareness of language-- a happy thing. xxxj

The blur between fantasy, dreams and reality is perfect. The balance between adoration and domination creates just the right amount of dissonance. To the edge, this one!

Who needs love when I have your poetry to keep me warm at night. Thank you Mr Grant as always. This is what I needed tonight:)

Hot! Blush! wasn't expecting my morning to start like this...then again, neither did she...or did she? Writes like this tend to lead me to senseless babble, so I'll just stop now! ;)
