d'Verse Poets Writing Prompt

Renewal

a distant thunder, pounding rain,
the potamides, will dance again
water down the mountain slopes—
the spring ritual invokes
the nymph’s blood of renewal
to sate the valley, poet and the fool

very cool...had to look up potamides...but you hint it in that last line...blood of renewal is an interesting thought as well...enjoy the rain...

Same here Brian, not a word I have heard before. Its a lovely word though, even moreso now I know the meaning.

It brings a very ancient feel to the piece.

"the poet, the fool"

I had no idea you knew me ;-)

This poem carried with it a timelessness of theme, and the parallels between the silver waters and the incarnadine flow, these are exquisite.
